Can the PAA3 run on a Mac with an Intel Chip?

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Provided you’re running both OSX and Windows XP on the system, you can switch to Windows XP and use that for the PAA3 software.  Unfortunately Mac OSX is not supported at this time.

Why do the microphones on the PAA2 and PAA3 fold out to 45 degrees?

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

The angle of the microphone will help avoid reflecting sounds reaching the capsule of the mic on the top panel of the PAA2 or PAA3. You may also choose to have it pointing straight, or any other positions, however it will only lock into place at 45 degrees.

Of course there is no better tool than your ear, so you should use this as the final determining factor for good sound.

Q: I have been trying to store and retrieve saved RTA traces on the PAA2/PAA3. When I enter the main menu, it shows an X beside the Memory selection and will not let me enter the memory section. I can enter the SAVE portion of the memory by pressing the right and enter buttons and it appears that it lets me save the measurement. I can not seem to either retrieve the measurement or more importantly enter the EQ section for the EQ display.

Can I use your audio testers to set up my car’s sound system?

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Yes, you can rest assured that Phonic’s PAA2 and PAA3 will work as well for setting up vehicle sound systems as it does for professional sound installations. In fact, many of our customers use our audio analyze to tune up their home theatre or car audio set up. However, you may not be able to use some functions that require the XLR connection, since car stereo systems typically do not use these types of cables.
